Roger: (Before)
It's amazing how this little guy got passed up. While small, he had the personality of a Mastiff. He had been sitting at the Carson Shelter for two months and only had days left be the Shelter would put him to sleep. That's when we resuced him.
Photo

(After)
"Just wanted to let you know that Roger is doing great. He loves curling up with me in bed under the blankets at night and seems so happy to be in a loving home. He still sits on command He is getting along great with our greyhound Bran. They follow each other around all day. Thank you again for all that you are doing."

Photo

sasha: (Before)
When one of our volunteers brought sasha to our attention, we could not believe that this fluffy, sweet little puppy was about to meet her demise. Noone knew she was even at the shelter or gave her a chance to be adopted before putting her on that final RED list that we always hate to see. It was up to Sasha the full life that she so deserved to have.
Photo

(After)
"Sasha is a perfect match and we all just adore her. She's a really smart girl! I couldn't believe the photo of her from the pound. I'm so glad you guys saw her potential and saved her. Thank you so much and thank you for saving these wonderful, beautiful pets for us to enjoy."

Photo

jerry: (Before)
We might have passed by Jerry if one of the animal control officers did not point him out. She loved Jerry as did the rest of the shelter so when they had to cal us and tell us her had 48 hours to live, we knew we had to give this kind soul his second chance
Photo

(After)

We suggested this wonderful baby to a family who thought she was as precious as we did!" Well, Otto and I have become great pals. He is a terrificdog and we are having a great time together. Thanks to all of you who make the endeavor to save these animals - its a cause worth while!"

Photo

Grandma: (Before)
She was old and regal and needed a home with someone who did not care that Grandma was old but she was very wise. This poor old girl did not have much chance of being adopted when she was flanked by bouncing pups until we stepped in.
Photo

(After)
She now lives on a ranch in El cajon " Grandma is so wonderful, thank you for saving her and the work you do"

Brando was beautiful but for some reason had been tagged aggressive, and for that reason was being put down. But poor Brando did not have an aggressive bone in his body! How could this happen? We put up a fight for this lover and saved him from what would be an untimely death

Lucky: (Before)
Everything happens for a reason, and Lucky, well..frankly is very lucky, but then again so were we to encounter this loving guy. When we went to the shelter to save Crockett and Toby, we noticed Lucky, whom we had met many times...was being led away to his untimely death! We snatched this lover up and took him home. While in our care, he was the perfect gentleman. A soul that was so worth saving, he actually saved us
Photo

(After)
Lucky now has a family who loves him just as much as we did!

Mister: (Before)
We normally don't take on little guys, because they get adopted so quickly, but Mister kept hanging around that darn shelter...we knew we had to get him out. After him being there for 3 months and knowing his untimely death was pending. We sprung Mister.

(After)
"He is so great, and Cute and wonderful! My other dog just loves him and we are so happy we saved him."

Ninja: (Before)
What a face, what a baby..what a big boy!! Tiny had been brought to our attention by and amazing shelter worker who could not bear to think of his impending death. He had been at the shelter for 5 months!!! That was an incredible run and every week was cheating death because the workers loved him so much. Now this beautiful bull mastiff needed our help and boy were we going to give it to him!

(After)
"he is my best buddy, he goes to work with me everyday...I really love him"

Kid: (Before)
When we found kid, we knew he had been in the shelter for a long time. Poor kid was so small that he kept getting put in with puppies!!! And everyone wanted the puppies and not Kid. He was very scared and a little aggressive which scared us, but we knew with the right amount of TLC this little one would come right out of his shell. When we got the 24 hour notice on Kid, we made it work and found the best family in the world!
Photo

(After)
As soon as we got Diego home he ran right in, tried to play with our dog Lola (who is deathly afraid of him), ran around and jumped all over giving us million of kisses. We took him to Dog park where he did GREAT. He is a very happy boy. We let him sleep with us in bed where he put his head right next to mine on the pillow! He slept through the night like a baby! He’s a totally different dog than the one who got picked up from the pound

Gunner: (Before)
Gunner was a dog who would be mans best friend, only he kept getting passed by. No one wanted Gunner, so we wanted him. We played and handled Gunner while he was on the red list and then we know that his time had come. We sprung into action to save this dreamy boy and found him a forever home.
Photo

(After)
Gunner is now a happy boy in a home with a loving dad. With a yard to play in and a house all to himself, Gunner is living the live every dog should have in Beautiful San Diego

Photo

Toby: (Before)
What a DREAM BOAT! Toby was truly one of the most gorgeous dogs we had EVER seen at the shelter. While only three years old, Toby looked like a puppy, complete with puppy like fur. His shyness made him so sweet. And his love for other dogs made him sweeter! When we got the 24 hour call on toby, we could not believe it. What were they thinking? Truly they were not talking about the Toby we knew! But that did not matter, we made sure to save toby and found him his forever home he deserves!
Photo
Photo

(After)
"Toby and I really have an amazing time together. He's the greatest! Always sweet and ready to go play at the park, which he loves! He is the most affectionate dog I've ever had. When I am watching tv, he always want to come and watch it with me, begging me to pet him more!. Toby really found his forever home and his family."

Photo

Crockett: (Before)
Our story for him called him MR. Personality, and we meant it. Crockett was a 2 year old superstar. Cute, loveable, great with Kids, great with other dogs. We wanted him the moment we saw him,, and found him a home the minute we knew he had 24 hours left. What a shame it would have been to loose this fantastic boy
Photo

(After)
Crockett now has a family of 8 kids to play with and he could not be happier! "He is the perfect dog! He loves the kids and the kids love him! HE has the best personality of any dog on the face of the earth! Thank you for our very special addition."

Photo

When CFC was contacted by an owner who could no longer care for Simba, we wanted to help. He was such a great guy we knew we could find a great home for this loveable German shepherd. We took SIMBA to our first ever Adoption festival and found the perfect home for him complete with 3 great kids!

(After)
He has been such a great addition to our family, the kids love him and he loves them right back. We are so happy we found him!"

Sadie: (Before)
When we met Sadie, we were aware that she had been in the shelter for almost 4 months, an eternity by shelter standards. She had been pregnant and had her babies behind bars and now needed are help as she was in danger of being euthanized. When we met her, she was so kind and sweet and so maternal to the other dogs in her cage. She even gave us her paw! We immediately took her under our wing and found her the perfect home
Photo

(After)
Sadie's new Home in El Cajon is complete with other dogs, a yard and her very own teenager to play with and give her paw too! "Sadie is adjusting very well! She was actually giving Raven ( our other dog) her paw on his nose:) I thought that was sooo cute:) She loves her Frosty Paws and cookies. She eats her cookies like it might be the last one she ever gets. She knows where they are now and waits by the cookie jar for one"

Savvy: (Before)
Savvy was in the pound for almost three months before we got her. It turns out her owners had surrendered her because they said they could no longer afford to have a dog. It was a stroke of luck that we got to her right before she was to be put to sleep. We had heard “through the grapevine” of a couple that previously had a white German Shepherd that had passed away and were now looking to get a new pup. They didn’t have the thousands of dollars that it cost to get a new puppy, so we contacted them asking if they would take a rescue. They agreed to let us find them their new pup. We scoured the shelters for a white German Shepherd puppy and finally found her – at one of the highest kill shelters in Los Angeles county. Knowing she only had a couple of days left, we sent pictures to her new owners and they agreed to adopt
Photo

(After)
Savvy is doing great… We are very happy with her. She is filling the empty spot that Chips left when she went to dog heaven.”

Rufus: (Before)
We came across Rufus at the Downey shelter in Los Angeles. They had called our organization because they were going to put him to sleep. We begged the shelter to give us a couple of days and worked tirelessly to find him a home. Jenna, who was looking for a second dog and saw one of our ads, contacted us. She was comfortable around Rottweilers and knew that, for the most part, they are all gentle giants. The next day we picked Rufus up from the pound. We held on for him for a couple of days to see how he interacted with other dogs, then arranged to a volunteer deliver him to his new home. It turns out that Rufus’ dad, who was a little unsure of the new (big!) addition, ended up with a new best friend!
Photo

(After)
"The Rotty we adopted is really working out. He has become very comfortable with us…Thank you for what you do.”

Photo

Rocky: (Before)
When Downey called us to let us know they were about to put Rocky to sleep, we knew that we had to do something FAST. He was one of the most special dogs that we have ever encountered and we wanted to find him the loving home that he deserved. Luckily, a young woman named Amanda saw one of our pleas for help on the internet. She had just purchased a house with a lot of land and was finally able to have the dog she always wanted. After sending her pictures of Rocky, she knew she had to have him! We got to the shelter in the nick of time and then drove him directly to Amanda. Four months later she is still as happy as ever and now Rocky has a new home with lots of love (and lots of land!
Photo

(After)
We just got into our new house and Rocky loves it...We are so lucky we have him he is a great dog and a great protector… He’s learned some new tricks and is just so amazing – he’s the perfect dog!...We are so happy with him.”

Princess: (Before)
Princess is a pup that one of our volunteers made us aware of. She was sitting in the Los Angeles East Valley shelter for almost three months. Her life was only spared that long because one of the employees fell in love and begged for her life. Once that employee left, we knew we didn’t have much time. We sent the word out about her and almost immediately got a response from Mike, a young marine in San Diego. His fiancé had just moved to the state and they were thinking about getting their first dog. They weren’t entirely ready, but when they saw Princess’s picture, they couldn’t resist. We arranged to have her delivered to San Diego three days later (she stayed in foster care in the meantime). Once Mike and Melissa met her, it was love at first sight!
Photo

(After)
Thank you so much for asking about Princess. She's doing fantastically! … She's constantly making friends and charming all the girls when I take her for walks…. She loves the attention and never turns it down.”
